Lake Arrowhead is a welcoming community of 12,424 people located in the San Bernardino Mountains in California. Located in a beautiful valley around a stunning jewel of a lake, this town hosts hundreds of tourists every year. Consequently, it offers many great events throughout the seasons people visit. Be sure to check out all of the Lake Arrowhead events going on throughout the year.

Spring and Summer Events

There are some great spring and summertime events in Lake Arrowhead. Summertime really lets the natural beauty of the region come through. Come enjoy some sun and fresh air, and take in one or two Lake Arrowhead events while you are here.

Memorial Day long weekend is always full of fun events in Lake Arrowhead. Because Memorial Day long weekend is traditionally opening weekend for the Lake Arrowhead Yacht Club, they host the first of the races they host every weekend, all summer. Because Lake Arrowhead Yacht Club is a private club, members and their guests are welcome to watch the races from their clubhouse.

Memorial Day is also the weekend the Lake Arrowhead Farmers Market and Summer Concert Series kick off in Lake Arrowhead Village. Both of these events run every Friday, all summer long. The concert series also runs on Saturdays. The Farmers Market is chock full of local vendors selling locally made food and handicrafts. Here you can truly get a taste for the region. Both events are free to attend, however, better seats for the concerts can be reserved at a cost.

June brings the Lake Arrowhead Wooden Boat and Antique Car Show on June 10th and 11th. Open to the public, this show exhibits the impressive handiwork of antique car and boat enthusiasts. Here, you can take in old-fashioned “woodie” station wagons, vintage wooden boats, and hot rods. This event is sure to please car and boat lovers of all ages.

Also occurring in June, the Lake Arrowhead Art and Wine Festival promises to bring together two of the finer things in life. Since its inception, it has expanded and now attracts both top-shelf artists and renowned winemakers. This event attracts art and wine lovers from all over the Southwest and is always a hit.

Independence Day is always an exciting event at Lake Arrowhead. The Arrowhead Lake Association hosts a fireworks spectacular every year. Come and watch fireworks over Lake Arrowhead while celebrating American independence.
Shortly after Independence Day festivities is the signature Lake Arrowhead event: Le Grand Picnic. Held in the Mountains Community Hospital’s rose garden, the themed picnic blooms with summertime fun. Local restaurants provide food tasting for the over 300 guests the picnic attracts every year. The theme in 2017 is “A Day At The Races” and it promises to be a great day.
The last big summertime event in Lake Arrowhead is the 8th Annual August Brewfest on August 8th, 2017. Held in the Blue Jay village parking lot, it showcases local craft brews and offers great live entertainment. This event is a must-attend for beer lovers.

Fall and Winter Events

Autumn and winter in Lake Arrowhead are just as lovely as summer, so the Lake Arrowhead events don’t stop.
The village of Lake Arrowhead kicks off fall in splendid fashion with and all-ages Oktoberfest events every weekend, starting in mid-September and heading through early October. Touted as the best Oktoberfest in the Inland Empire, it boasts the largest German, European, and craft beer  selection at any Oktoberfest. Here, you can grab a stein of beer and enjoy German-style foods like bratwurst, sauerkraut, and pretzels.

On October 14th 2017, the 10th Annual Pine Cone Festival celebrates the San Bernardino landscape. Aimed to encourage fire prevention and responsible enjoyment of the outdoors, this festival is for all ages. Come take in the variety of pinecone crafts, enjoy some fair food, and maybe see if that pinecone you found in the woods last week is the biggest in town. This event is always full of family fun.

The winter events season starts in late November with the first of the Christmas events. First, is the local presentation of The Nutcracker. Presented by the Lake Arrowhead Classical Ballet Society, this event is a seasonal favorite. Second is the annual bonfire in Blue Jay. Here, you can visit with Santa, have free hot cocoa, and make a donation to help local fire fighters.
Christmas events continue throughout December, with the 38th annual Blue Jay Christmas parade leading off on December 2nd 2017. Santa then moves to Lake Arrowhead Village, where children can meet with him through Christmas Eve.

Finally, after the Christmas season is over, the Lake Arrowhead Rotary Club offers us all a brisk kick into action with the annual Polar Bear Plunge in early February. Take a bracing dip in Lake Arrowhead at its coldest while raising money for the Lake Arrowhead Rotary club and local charities. In 2016, the Plunge raised a record 42,000!
